Chipper Shredder
Toiling on your garden or yard to remove any non-essential trees, bushes or plants is unforgiving work! Not only do you have to chop the trees down, you also have to get rid of of it in an environmentally friendly way too. This might definitely be where having access to a tree chipper or shredder unit will come in handy.
These small units will break apart little sticks and branches and plants into smaller pieces so they could be reused or recycled in many different ways. An example, a branch from a removed tree could be turned into wood chip to be used as a decoration on top of your plant bedding areas. If you have a few branches to recycle, it could be used to make an area where children can play safely. Any soft items such as plants can be broken down by a garden shredder to a fine or coarse mulch which is then excellent for putting to your pots to be used as a natural and organic fertilizer. Mash up the shredded plant with a bit of water and leave to soak in a covered and warm place and you will produce an excellent, locally made compost to help your replacement plants and trees flourish.
Chippers and Shredders are available in all sizes, from smaller portable models designed for home gardeners only, which use strong nylon strings to break down the waste plants you feed through it in to small pieces, all the way through to larger towable gas powered chipper shredders and ones that are made for industrial chipping for landscaping professionals and environmental companies. In the centre of these items there are lots of chippers and shredders that are designed to break through the majority of what is placed into them. They are designed to take branches or sticks of no larger diameter of two inches and they quite happily shred all types of other yard waste material without any issues at all. Products by Bearcat or Troy Bilt are designed for this sort of work and will last you for years and years.
A home use leaf shredder is a perfect option for people with bigger gardens that feature big trees that shed their leaves. Place the leaves into the leaf shredder and they will be shredded quickly. The processed leaves are great for making compost or mulching, and the processed leaves are easily disposed of too.
Why not make it a joint item. Join in with your neighbors and buy a shredder between you and then share it among you all. It makes perfect sense to jointly own a chipper shredder as they are not required all year round.
